Carter's 3rd B-day

Carter started out his 3rd b-day by eating pancakes (one of his favorite breakfast food...if a chocolate chip waffle from Waffle House is not an option of course). Then the water slide man came. Carter watched him set up and infate the water slide. He was SO excited he went out to greet the man in his jammies:) He then opened some family gifts before his friends arrived. He kept asking if his "party was opened"...I guess that means began??? Chloe was very interested in brother opening his gifts. As you can see he already had his swim suit on while he was opening gifts. He was super excited. WE have been talking about it all week. This year was also very special becuase he got share the birthday with with old friend Reese!

More b-day fun

Here he is still opening gifts from family...thanks Auntie Cherie, Grammy, Grandma & Grand dad!!! He got lots of stuff; puzzles, books, stickers, clothes, cars, digger, legos. Carter even LOVES to open cards. He is excited if he gets mail. He will carry around cards for days. H has loved cards for a long time. When he was a lot smaller he would have to have the card sitting next to him while he ate:)

Here is the huge water slide we rented for his b-day. Carter was a little hessitant at frist but one slide down and he loved it. The kids had a BLAST!

Water slide time

We had 7 families come over to celebrate Carter's b-day w/ him. The kids stayed on the slide until we made them eat lunch.

We had a baby pool for the little ones.

more party

Carter's buddy Reese...Carter giving hima b-day hug.

Cake time. This was an interesting time. We have never shared a b-day before. This was the first tricky part of sharing a b-day...the cake. We sang to both Carter and Reese. But when it came time to blow the candles out it is hard to get two 3 yr olds to do that together:)

Cake time

This year we had The Cars (Disney movie) theme. Carter loves that movie!
Carter and mommy b-day kiss.
Cars cake.
Sister and daddy going down the slide. She wanted to go on. She was standing next to the slide whenever she could get over there. It was a little scary because you go down fast and there is a HUGE puddle of water at the bottom. The splash startled her.

Bob the Builder

We went to the Pier to meet Bob the Builder. Carter gave him a high five and a hug. Carter had a great time dancing to the live music and running around the grass with a boy he met there. Sometimes we sing the Bob the Builder fix it song. We like to add everyone in the families name...Chloe the builder can she fix it..yes she can! And Carter makes sure we do not forget to sing anyones name (sometimes we even add extended family too. And I'm talking pets too...Carter will say to me "what about Pheebe?". Grandma's cat). We ended the night with balloon animals from the clown lady:) The only thing missing was daddy (home planning a flight for work).

Family Expo

We took Carter to the Family Expo. They had a fire truck and Rescue helicopter the kids could tour.

They also had characters inside; Veggie Tales, Curious George, Clifford, Healthy Hearts. They also had a Cat Country radio station booth. This station has billboards all over the city. Carter gets so excited (ever since July 4th when we went to a festival where "the Cat" from the station was there greeting the kids) and points every one out. So he was thrilled to get a Cat Country tatoo.

Sesame Street Live

Here is Carter at Sesame Street Live. The show came to our Navy base. Here is Carter waiting for the show to begin. All the kids got a free Elmo light & spinning toy, stickers, and a movie.
The show was great! The Sesame characters sang and danced on stage. they occasionally came off stage to greet the kids. When Elmo came off stage Carter was SO excited. Carter left his seat and walked up front to hug Elmo all by himself (Carter is usually afraid of characters and will not go without us...if at all. He likes them from afar). So guess that just proves that Elmo is his favorite. After he hugged Elmo he was going to follow him on stage so Graham had to go get him:)

I asked Carter if Zoe was his favorite and he said "no, sister's".

When it was time to go home he asked me where were Bert and Ernie??? The show consisted of Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, Zoe and Rosita.

Now when we drive on base he asks me if we are going to see Sesame Street.

Beach time w/ The Parkers

Grandma and Grand dad WA visiting for Chloe's b-day. We took a beach trip the day after the b-day. Carter loves to dig in the sand, look for shells and sea creatures. He has NO fear of the water. It is amazing how time changing things...the year before he was afraid of the ocean. He would cry if you carried him close to it. Now you can't keep him away from it:)

Sister's B-day

Carter enjoying family visiting for Chloe's first b-day. I think Carter was more excited about present time than Chloe. He would grab every gift and bring it to me and say "mommy look". But overall he did great with the focus being on Chloe and not on him!
